The Texas Rose Festival will be held this week in Tyler, and that means fun for the whole family.

Rose season is upon us once again. Throughout the entire month of October, thousands of visitor’s flock to Tyler for the annual Rose Season, an exciting time to admire and celebrate the newly budding and blossoming roses that surround our area.

The Luxury Travel Guide magazine has named Tyler the “Garden Destination of the Year – USA” for 2016.

Artists looking for inspiration this weekend, need look no further than the Tyler Rose Garden as the Tyler Parks and Recreation Department host the '8th Annual Art in the Garden.'

Thursday morning at 10a the ribbon will be cut at the Rose Garden Center to kick off the 79th annual Texas Rose Festival in Tyler. Rose Festival activities include the ladies' and men's luncheons, the coronation at UT Tyler, the Rose Parade, an arts and crafts fair, the Queen's tea and more.
