Katy Perry‘s new hubby and comical actor, Russell Brand, visits the set of ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ Friday afternoon (Dec. 2), and one of the topics addressed during his couch time was the recent rumors surrounding his marriage to the singing superstar.
Former ‘Dancing with the Stars’ pro Julianne Hough is slated to star alongside British comedian Russell Brand in Diablo Cody’s still-untitled comedy.
In the film, which Cody wrote and will direct, portrays a young woman who travels to Las Vegas to find herself after a plan crash shakes her religious faith. While Hough takes the primary role, Brand will be depicting the “unlikely companion” she meets along the way.

Today, director Adam Shankman tweeted a brand-new photo from the set of his new movie, 'Rock of Ages,' featuring a never before seen glimpse of stars Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand in full-on rock mode.
In the movie, set during the '80s, Baldwin plays Dennis Dupree, an aging rocker who is now the owner of club The Bourbon Room. Brand, meanwhile, plays Dennis' right-hand man, Lonny, who also serves as the story's narrator.

The New York Daily News reports that Katy Perry has slapped a 6 figure lawsuit on ACP Magazines, an Australian magazine company that produces the tabloid/gossip magazine NW. In an article that was printed in last months NW edition, they claim that she cheated on her husband Russell Brand with her record producer, Benny Blanco, by having an 'intimate relationship'. An acusation that Katy says is totally false.
The weekend box office brought good news and bad news for comedian Russell Brand.
The good news: Brand's live-action/animated comedy 'Hop' took the top spot for the second weekend in a row, with $21.7 million. That marks a 42 percent drop from last weekend, bringing the film's grand total to $68.2 million thus far.
Unfortunately, Brand's other movie, 'Arthur,' a remake of the Oscar-winning '80s comedy starring Dudley Moore, underperformed with audiences, bringing in just $12.6 million. The movie, which also stars Greta Gerwig, Jennifer Garner and Helen Mirren, suffered from poor reviews that likely killed its word of mouth.
There are 4 new movies in the theaters this weekend - one is a remake from the 80's, one set in medieval times, one dealing with an assassin and the other is based on a true story of a surfer!
