Some Tyler school zone speed limits will be changing.

Our friends over at the Longview Police Department gave a friendly reminder on how to react to certain situations when you come in contact with a school bus.

Back in September it became against the law in the state of Texas to be on your handheld cell phone in an active school zone. If you are caught on your cell phone while in an active school zone you could receive a citation for as much as $200.

Now that school is back in session, we'll be seeing those school zone lights flashing again after being dormant all summer long. For a lot of morning commuters that have school zones they cross through on their way to the office, they'll have to get used to slowing down again while in the school zone. Also, remember that if you're in a school zone you can't be on your cell phone or you could face
