August 11, 2011 Was anyone watching Channel 56 and the "Today Show" this morning? Unbelievable transformation. I remember watching this lady on Oprah and being shocked when Oprah got her to take away her veil. The damage was horrible. This is the lady who pretty much had her face eaten away during a chimp attack in 2009. Kudos to the plastic surgery team behind this one. May 8, 2011 It's been a summer tradition for the past few years, the Today show on NBC hosting their weekly summer concert series outside of their studio on Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. Some of the past performers include Lady Gaga, Enrique Iglesias, John Mayer, Carrie Underwood and more. Back this year are Train, The Script and Maroon 5 along with a ton of other artists. April 29, 2011 And another one bites the dust.
Just days after Katie Couric announced she is leaving 'CBS Evening News,' the Hollywood Reporter brings word that Couric's 'Today' show replacement, Meredith Vieira, is leaving the top-rated morning news program in June.
Though unconfirmed, NBC is expected to make the announcement official as early as next week.
Taking Vieira's place will be long-time 'Today' show newsreader Ann Curry. Curry's spot will be filled by Natalie Morales.
April 12, 2011 Following word that Katie Couric is planning to leave her post at 'CBS Evening News' in the near future, the NY Times is now reporting that the 54-year-old anchor may pursue a syndicated talk show with her former 'Today' co-host, Matt Lauer.
But don't get too excited: According to the report, the move would be "intensely complicated," as Lauer's contract with 'Today' doesn't expire until the end of 2012, and NBC will probably make him a significant offer to keep him on the show.
April 7, 2011 Is NBC's long running morning news program 'Today' about to get a major facelift?
Over the past couple of days, news has circulated that hosts Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira plan to leave the show when their contracts expire. Lauer in particular was at the center of Internet rumors today after reports claimed he had informed NBC executives of his departure, which would be in Dec. 2012.
However, NBC has since denied the reports, saying, "There seems to be an awful lot of speculation around news anchors these days, and it's not our practice to comment on any of it. Matt Lauer has a long-term contract with NBC News and TODAY."
April 5, 2011 She's used to breaking headlines, but today, Katie Couric is making some of her own.
According to a report from the AP, Couric is leaving her historic anchor post at 'CBS Evening News' after joining the program less than five years ago, in 2006. Her next move: a syndicated talk show, which is expected to launch in 2012.
Couric's contract with CBS ends on June 4, though no word on when her official last broadcast will be.
February 8, 2011 A Volkswagen ad in which a little boy dressed as Darth Vader attempts to use the force has been declared by many to be the best commercial of the Super Bowl, and has garnered over 16 million additional hits on YouTube.
On the ‘Today Show,“ the pint-sized Vader was revealed to be six-year-old Max Page, who admitted he had never seen "Star Wars" or heard of Darth Vader before auditioning for the role.
