Trick-or-Treating Event at the Tyler Airport This Afternoon

Don't you love it as a parent, when you can take the kids to one place and they can trick-or-treat a lot without having to get in and out of the car?

The Tyler Pounds Regional Airport plans to have its second annual Fall Festival this afternoon, and that means Trick-or-Treating from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Candy Corn Tops List Of Most Popular Halloween Candy

Today, October 30th, is National Candy Corn Day and it just happens to top the list of the most popular candy for Halloween. This little brightly colored candy was created in the 1880's by the Wunderlee Candy Company and each piece is approximately three times larger than an actual kernel of corn. It also happens to be one of my favorite Halloween candies, however, my wife found a variation of this popular candy in the store the other day that's become one of my faves, taffy candy corn.

Halloween is quickly approaching and for all kids, young and old, it's about getting the most candy you can. Going door to door can be a challenge to get a lot of candy, but you get the benefit of walking and meeting your neighbors, however there are alternatives to the traditional door to door route. Jacksonville's giving trick or treaters an alternative to door to door trick or treating with Street Sweets on Halloween night.

Have you planned your Trick-or-Treating attack yet?

Most families seem to take the kids in costume to houses in their own neighborhoods, but others have been known to drive well out of their way just to hunt down the best candy. Once the word starts to spread that a neighborhood passes out full-size Snickers, that's where the mini-vans head!

So where are the best spots to Trick-or-Treat? Strangely enough, everywhere BUT Texas. Isn't everything supposed to be bigger here? Apparently the Halloween candy is not.
