Volkswagen's 'Little Darth Vader' Max Page to Undergo Open Heart Surgery

Although you probably wouldn’t recognize Max Page, you have almost certainly seen him before. The 7-year-old played miniature Darth Vader in Volkswagen’s 2011 Super Bowl ad, a spot that is among the most popular in the history of the Big Game.

After the commercial aired, Max made an appearance on ‘Today,’ where his mom revealed he had been diagnosed with a congenital heart defect at birth and has since worn a pacemaker.

At first you think "Who's that"! But when you hear it, you go, "Ah, yeah I do remember that one"! It's from the German band that formed in the early '80's and it was really their only hit. The video was set in a bar with a black and white tv and the band and eventually used in Volkswagen commercials in the late '90's. A Volkswagen ad in which a little boy dressed as Darth Vader attempts to use the force has been declared by many to be the best commercial of the Super Bowl, and has garnered over 16 million additional hits on YouTube.

On the ‘Today Show,“ the pint-sized Vader was revealed to be six-year-old Max Page, who admitted he had never seen "Star Wars" or heard of Darth Vader before auditioning for the role.
