It is expected to be another gorgeous East Texas weekend this coming weekend with partly sunny skies and temps in the mid-80's with just a slight chance of rain, many people will be hosting garage sales and just as many of us will be going through other people's things to see if they are worthy enough to become our things. The City of Whitehouse is giving us all a chance to shop their citywide garage sale on Saturday (October 13th).

The White House Easter Egg Roll is a tradition that goes back to 1878. In the beginning, the event was mostly just the roll itself, with children pushing painted eggs through the White House Lawn with a long-handled spoon.

But these days, it is much more than that. Now it’s a 11 hour event that about 35,000 kids and their parents attend.

Now that the temps are finally cooling off, Keep Whitehouse Beautiful is asking residents of Whitehouse to spend 10 minutes in a ditch Saturday and pick up litter in the ditches in front of their houses and along the roadside and improve the appearance of Whitehouse! Get the community involved, call your neighbors and friends, get a trash bag and fill it up! Spending 10 minutes will dramatically improve the community.

Over half adults in the United States drink coffee - 3 cups per day totaling a whopping 336 million cups if you total it all up (give or take). The mildly stimulating caffeine in coffee gets us going in the day. Though caffeine is considered an additive drug it is more the taste and smell that perks us up in the morning. There are studies for and against coffee consumption -- like anything if consumed in moderation you're "good to go." Tyler is hooked up with places to find your perfect cup of Joe. Walking into a "Coffee Shop" is like finding a refuge from the pressure of the day. I pull out my iPad or laptop and sip my "mild drug" of choice.
