Tomorrow evening, culinary specialist Jamie Dunn from Taste Of Home will be demonstrating to East Texans how to prepare some quick and healthy meals in no time! Jamie will be preparing some mouth watering appetizers, main course dishes and, of course, desserts.

The Taste Of Home Cooking School gets underway at 6:30 p.m. at Harvey Convention Center in Tyler, but the doors will open at 4 p.m. and feature the 2nd annual Mix 93-1 Cake Off Competition.

Both amateur and professional cake decorators will be competing with their cake designs in separate divisions to the theme of East Texas high school sports.

These cake decorators will start off with blank cakes and will have a limited time to create their masterpieces to be judged by East Texas bakers and chefs!  Among the chefs making the decisions are Claudia from Chez Bazan, Bernard from Bernard's Mediterranean Restaurant and Cedric from ZaZa's Italian.

Before the show you can also visit some of the many vendors that will be on hand talking with you and giving away free samples too.  Vendors include Edible Arrangements, The Christmas store, Let's Cook, Saladmaster, Brookshire's, BJaxx, Cutco Cutlery and The Kitchen Drawer.

With your paid admission, whether general or VIP, you'll receive a year's subscription to the Taste of Home magazine along with a special goodie bag that has been filled with goodies from our local sponsors along with national sponsors.

I'll sound like an infomercial here, but that's not all!  When you're watching Jamie prepare all of those delicious dishes, pay attention to the appliances, because you could be taking them home with you (actually we'll have them delivered!)  You could win the appliances that will be on stage thanks to Don's TV and Appliances.

Throughout the evening you could also win gift cards from Brookshire's along with many other prizes, too.

Tickets for tomorrow night's event are still available online through noon tomorrow or at the door.
