Taylor Swift Sends Lucky Larry a Thank You Note

You'll have to forgive me as I brag about something right about now.

In all of my years in radio I have never had this happen to me and I think it's pretty awesome and classy that it happened. I received a very personal thank you note from Taylor Swift, yes, Taylor Swift!

I've always heard about how she cares for her fans and that she'll 'stalk' them on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and reward them for being her fans from time to time. She's given them gifts on their birthdays, sent them little things without asking, etc. It's the one thing that she does EXTREMELY WELL, to thank those who support her and care for her.

I had the honor of meeting her at the kick off of her U.S. 1989 Tour in Bossier City back on May 20. She took the time out before her show to meet and talk with every single person in the room.

She was very personable and sincere, and the experience was awesome and unforgettable, too. Now to the thank you note, I received an envelope here at the station yesterday and not really paying attention to the return address (or lack thereof, it was just Swift after I looked at it again) I opened it and was shocked at the contents.

It was a personalized note from Taylor Swift thanking me AND my wife for attending her show and for meeting with her. This kind of thing is unheard of! I have been to quite a few meet and greets and shows and to receive a thank you note after meeting with an artist is unheard of. Totally cool! I'm going to frame it and put up on the wall here in my office at the station for all to see.

I believe Taylor is truly thankful for what she has, her fans and those of us in radio who support her by playing her music. A true class act from a very young lady. She gets it!

If this story happens to make it back to Taylor Swift, I'd like to say, "Thank you very much. A touch that was not expected and gone way above and beyond anything I ever expected. Thank you."
