One of our biggest issues with the first ‘Terminator Genisys’ trailer was that it was a little confusing. Not just the time travel, but the whole premise of the movie; is this a remake or a reboot or a sequel or some combination of all the above? This new ‘Terminator’ Super Bowl trailer doesn't attempt to address all those concerns in its allotted 30 seconds (probably because that would be impossible), but instead focuses on the action, which is something we can get behind.

In addition to the new Super Bowl trailer, which you'll also see during the Big Game, we also have a new ‘Terminator Genisys’ poster, which looks like it might've been a poster for ‘T2’ right down to the overused “He's Back.” tagline they used to sell the 1991 film. (In fairness, the official ‘T2’ tagline was, “This time he's back… for good!”) But, OK, maybe nostalgia is exactly what they're going for here.

We were admittedly cool on ‘Terminator Genisys’ after the regrettable Entertainment Weekly cover, and the subsequent trailer, but this is fine. The weird "YAH YAH" soundtrack is pretty annoying and we could do without that, but there's at least something to hang our cautiously optimistic hat on.

In addition to Schwarzenegger, ‘Terminator Genisys’ stars Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-Hun Lee and Oscar-nominee JK Simmons.

When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…

‘Terminator Genisys’ opens in theaters on July 1.
