Are we losin' our drawl ya all?

A new study says Texas may be losing its twang. Do you agree?

If it's true, the obvious answer may be because of the number of transplants that live in Texas. When a Chicago native moves to Texas they bring a northern accent and a lot of those people together can sort of squeeze out and disperse the yee haws.

According to research conducted by the University of Texas as part of its Texas English Project, the newcomers, along with urbanization and technology are leading to a reduction of the world-famous Texas accents.

But alas, thick drawls can still be found in several spots around Smith and other East Texas Counties. We know they're there. We hear them every day!

How about these southern sayings:

"Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit."

"It's been hotter'n a goat's butt in a pepper patch."

"He fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch."

"It's raining like a cow peeing on a flat rock."

Or is that just MY family?
