The Texas Rangers have announced the plans for their 2012 Winter Caravan, and it includes at least one stop in East Texas!

The Winter Caravan makes stops in 50-plus cities in Texas and Oklahoma and is a time to meet some of the Rangers players, coaches, executives and alumni. Most of the stops along the caravan are basically autograph sessions, but a few of the stops in the Dallas-Fort Worth area will actually be more like town hall meeting with question and answer sessions.

In addition to autographs, fans can have their picture taken with the 2010 and 2011 American League Championship trophies.

The one thing I am confused about is a stop in Tyler.  The Texas Rangers website mentions a stop in Tyler, but the schedule does not include one. The one thing I do know is that there is a stop in Longview on Thursday, Jan. 19 at Academy Sports from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Scott Coolbaugh and Mark Hamburger are scheduled to appear in Longview, with others to be announced.

Here’s a photo gallery from one of the Winter Caravan stops I attended last year:
