The Texas Rangers have not had the best start to their season, going 11-14 to start the year. Not having Adrian Beltre, on the DL because of a calf injury, has hurt.

But that rough start has not stopped them from helping out their fellow Texans.

If you have been to a game this season, you may have taken a chance at their Texas 2 Split game. You enter the drawing for chance at winning half of the proceeds donated during that game. The rest is given to the Rangers Foundation which is used their community outreach.

Longview's Miracle Park received a $20,000 donation from the program in addition to Longview native Chris Davis $50,000 donation.

It was announced during Sunday's (April 30) game that the proceeds from that day's Texas 2 Split would go toward tornado relief in East Texas according to the Fort Worth Star Telegram.

Texas Rangers Foundation chairman Neil Leibman released a statement saying, "The thoughts and prayers of everyone in the Texas Rangers organization are with the families who are mourning the loss of loved ones and with everyone who was affected by these massive storms."

Thank you Texas Rangers.
