There was even a 2011 movie made about his life, "Bernie," that starred Jack Black, Shirley MacLaine, Matthew McConaughey and even locals from Carthage.Bernie Tiede was found guilty of killing wealthy Carthage native Marjorie Nugent in 1996 and hiding her body in a freezer, and has been serving his sentence in New Boston.

According to reports from KLTV, Bernie has been moved from his cell in New Boston back to Panola County due to new evidence being present for his case. It is still unknown at this time what evidence that may be.

A bench warrant, issued by District Judge Charles Dickerson last Friday, requesting Tiede be brought before the 123rd District Court on Wednesday.

Last Friday, Tiede filed a motion to to change attorneys. Jodi Callaway Cole will replace local legend Scrappy Holmes as Tiede's new legal counsel. Cole started a petition in 2012 trying to get Bernie released from prison, after she claimed she found loopholes in the case.
