Today marks the 40th anniversary of the phrase "Come on down!  You're the next contestant on The Price Is Right!"  The Price Is Right celebrates its 40th year on CBS today!

When The Price Is Right made its debut on TV, September 4, 1972, Bob Barker was the host and hosted the iconic game show until 2007 when he passed the long microphone over to Drew Carey.  The Price Is Right is now the longest running game show in TV history although it's actually been on the air for more than 40 years, the current show has aired continuously for that long.  It was previously on the air from 1956 to 1965 and was hosted by Bill Cullen.

The Price Is Right is now seen all over the world through syndication rights with hosts from other countries.

By the way, my favorite game is Cliff Hangers!  I love the music the miner has to climb the mountain too and he never knows if it'll be his last time to climb the mountain or not!

From YouTube, here is a clip of what is being called the worst player The Price Is Right has ever had.  After watching it, I can see why and you can tell Bob is really frustrated by the end of the game!

Then there's this guy bidding $250,000 on a showcase!
