The Vagina Monologues Come to Tyler — Benefit Show For Tyler’s Women’s Center
Do you remember the HBO special, The Vagina Monologues? It was a touring show featuring women telling close and personal stories from their lives. Well, some East Texas women are recreating this show to help other East Texas women. Learn how you can help out too.
Women helping women is an important action for the Tyler community. Finding such a unique and fun way to lend a helping hand is exactly what the cast of the upcoming showing of The Vagina Monologues are doing.
The play, which debuted in 1996 with the playwright reading all the roles, offers thoughts by women of various ages and backgrounds. It will be presented by East Texas actors on Friday, February 22, and Saturday, February 23, at 7:30 p.m. in APEX Theatre 20 at 719 West Front Street, Tyler, where the basement of the Energy Building has been converted into a 49-seat theater and teaching studio. Patrons should enter from the north side on Potter Place. The house will open at 6:30 p.m. with complimentary beverages offered.
The Vagina Monologues is not suitable for children.
