Actor Anwan Glover was beaten stabbed at a Washington, D.C. nightclub during the early hours of Sunday morning (August 3), the Washington Post reports.

Glover, most known for his role as gang member Slim Charles on 'The Wire,' was at Club Asia when someone reportedly punched him and another attacker hit him in the back of the head. According to a police report obtained by the Post, Glover then fell to the ground on the wet floor and claims to have been kicked multiple times before hearing someone yell "He has a knife!" and feeling a "sharp pain" in his side.

The actor -- who also appeared in '12 Years a Slave' and is in the go-go band Backyard Band -- was reportedly treated for a laceration in his right side at George Washington University Hospital. Multiple sites report that his condition was unknown as of Sunday afternoon, though the Baltimore Sun reports that his injuries were not life-threatening.

According to the Post, Glover has been active in anti-violence campaigns. He was reportedly shot 13 times while growing up, while his brother was shot and killed in D.C., and even Glover's own son was hurt during a shooting at a party just three years earlier.

We wish Anwan Glover a healthy and speedy recovery.
