A Tyler Woman and her son are dead following a five vehicle accident Saturday afternoon on Spur 364 at County Rd. 1311 in Smith County.

Department of Public Safety reports 37-year-old Tammy Sue Latson of Murchison died at the scene of the wreck. Latson’s 11-year-old son Rowdy Latson died of his injuries several hours later at a Tyler Hospital.

DPS says Latsons vehicle was struck from behind while waiting for a car in front of her to take a left turn. The impact sent Latsons car into oncoming traffic where she was struck broadside.

Six people were transported to the hospital; two of the victims remain in critical condition.

DPS is investigating the crash.

 

Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Accident in Gregg County

A Tyler man was killed late Friday evening when he apparently stepped out into traffic along Interstate Twenty in Gregg County. DPS says 26- year-old Humberto Antonio Douglas of died when he was struck by a car traveling in the westbound lane on I-20.

The fatality occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Friday.

 

Tyler Motorcyclist Dies of His Injuries

20 year-old Dillon Shelton, of Tyler died Saturday at a Tyler hospital from injuries he received in a motorcycle – vehicle wreck Thursday December 6, 2012.

The accident occurred at the intersection of South Broadway and Heritage Drive in Tyler, Thursday, December 6, 2012, Tyler Police, Fire and EMS responded to the intersection of S. Broadway and Heritage around 12:00 p.m. on a motorcycle - vehicle crash.

Police investigating the accident say Shelton was traveling north bound on S. Broadway in the outside lane entering the intersection of Heritage.

The driver of a 2007 Chevy Tahoe, identified as 63 year-old Pam Davis of Kilgore, was traveling south bound on S. Broadway attempting to make a U-Turn in the intersection of Heritage. The Motorcycle struck the front of the Tahoe. The driver of the Tahoe and passenger were not injured.
