News came down on Monday night that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be co-hosting the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, and while we don't make a habit of going full-on squee around here, we're having more than a little trouble pulling ourselves together.

It’s like we entered a romcom, threw a coin in a fountain and now all of our fantastical dreams are coming true. This must be what it feels like to actually get a pony for Christmas. No, wait. A unicorn. NO WAIT A UNICORN PONY.

Bottom line: We understand if you need a few moments of privacy. Do what we did and get a room.

This has all the makings of a show-gasm of epic proportions. Fey and Poehler together again? Even if it's only for a few hours, it’s better than Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman working things out. It’s better than the White Stripes reuniting. It’s better than -- dare we? -- new webisodes of ‘Arrested Development.' (Shut up, it is.)

Not since the Fey and Poehler of ‘Weekend Update’ have there been two women more suited to making comedy together, and not since those halcyon days of ‘Saturday Night Live’ have we thought about a televised event involving two women and felt the tingle of climbing the rope in gym class.

What we're saying is that if Seth MacFarlane wants to top this when he hosts the Oscars, his plans should include going to each viewer’s house and offering them a happy ending. BECAUSE TINA FEY AND AMY POEHLER.

Those two geniuses form such a comedic brain trust that it’s entirely possible the producers could just show three hours of them riffing off of each other and forget handing out the awards altogether.

The Golden Globes are scheduled to air on Sunday, Jan. 13, so if you need us, we'll just be marking off time on a calendar until the joyous day arrives. It’s not like we’ll be able to think about anything else for the next three months anyway.
