I usually don't have a problem with Mondays, but today has been abnormally stressful. My morning was a little stressful, but I was keeping a positive attitude until I received a traffic ticket at lunch.

I haven't received a traffic ticket in over five years. Admittedly, I sometimes drive a little over the speed limit, and make other small indiscretions that most drivers do. I eat while driving and take phone calls when I have my iPhone headphones plugged in.

Today I was making an mad dash to Lindale during my lunch break. I had a few things to take care of, that I didn't get to over the weekend. I didn't have long, but I thought I would have time to drive home, knock out my chores, eat a quick lunch and get back to work.

I was pretty close to getting it all done, when I was stopped by a Lindale Police Officer headed back to Tyler for disregarding a red light. In my defense, I believed the light was yellow and from his point of view, facing me head on, I'm not sure he had the best angle to view my traffic light.

I knew it would not be a good idea to attempt to argue my case with the officer, so when he showed up at my passenger window I just handed him my license and insurance. He claimed I didn't quite make the light. So at this point, it's my word against his.

I guess I'll be taking Defensive Driving soon.
