It's too soon to know for sure, but a new tropical storm could become a hurricane in the next few days and have an impact on Texas in the next week or so.

Right now there are too many variables to know the exact track the tropical storm might take, or where it might make landfall, but meteorologists seem to agree that it will become a hurricane at some point. Right now with wind speeds of 40 mph, it's still considered a tropical storm and it's so far away that there's no threat to land.

On Tuesday the center of Tropical Storm Danny was about 4,000 miles from Galveston, and there's no reason to board up windows or stock up on water supplies just yet.

We just wanted to give you a heads up that something is brewing. It could dissipate, track in a different direction, or strengthen. We'll know within the next week whether Texas gets rain because of it.
