Tyler Junior College Professor Arrested for Theft

A well-known Tyler Junior College Professor has retired amid allegations of theft and tampering with evidence.
Tyler police say 59-year-old Dr. Manouchehr Khosrowshahi was arrested at a local Walmart for theft after police discovered he used false bar codes to purchase several items and then tried to eat the remaining codes as police approached him.
“Dr. K,” as he was known to TJC students and staff, was honored as Texas Professor of the Year in 2008.
Dr. Khosrowshahi cited “physical and mental issues” in his resignation letter to Tyler Junior College officials.
