Main Street Programs across the country work to keep downtown districts neat and clean and drawing visitors, and the Tyler Main Street Program has been noticed for being one of the best.

Only 60 Main Street Programs are recognized by the Texas Historical Commission, and the Tyler program is one that earned accreditation. The National Main Street conference in Atlanta is coming up March 30 through April 2, and it's possible the Tyler program could be honored there, too.

KETK says the Tyler Main Street Program partners with non-profit Heart of Tyler organization on downtown revitalization efforts. It supports local businesses and projects, and keeps downtown in the forefront for events.

We'll be in downtown Tyler on the Square on May 2 for the Red Dirt BBQ and Music Festival. Can't wait for all the BBQ, music, and Shiner Bock. Already got your tickets? Cool! If not, you can get 'em here.
