Think nothing goes on in your sleepy little town? Think again, Tyler has been named as one of the top ten most exciting cities in Texas according to Movoto.com.

The cities were chosen out of the 100 most populated cities in the state, so apparently size does matter to some extent, and Tyler managed to come in at 8.

Using criteria like nightlife, active life, live music venues, fast food and non-fast food restaurants, young residents (18-34), they have ranked the top ten most exciting places to live in the Lone Star State.

Tyler's Caldwell Zoo, many parks, museums and restaurants helped it rank high, but our great events helped, too. The city earned points for the East Texas State Fair and the Texas Rose Festival. Just wait till they learn about the Red Dirt BBQ and Music Festival.
