The Tyler Public Library begins its Spring Book Sale on Wednesday in the lobby and first-floor Book Nook. The sale will continue through Sunday, March 29.

“We are selling adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction books, as well as audio books and videotapes,” City Librarian Mary Vernau said. “All items are priced at $1 or less. For this sale, we will have large sections on religion, large print, history/politics, animals/nature, cooking, travel, biographies, crafts/hobbies, health and the arts.”

Library staff and volunteers have been working hard to organize the sale, which will include gently used books and donations that don't currently meet the library's needs.

“All proceeds from our sales go toward the purchase of new or replacement items for the Library’s collection,” Vernau said. “We expect to have thousands of items on hand, nearly all of them new to this sale.”

Stocks will be replenished as needed, due to the small space available for the sale, so there maybe new items available daily.

Adult hardback books will be priced at $1, Wednesday through Saturday. Audiobooks, videotapes, children's books and paperbacks will be priced at 50 cents during this time. Special pricing will be available on Sunday.

The sale areas will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4:30 p.m.

Tyler Public Library is located at 201 S. College in downtown Tyler. More information about the sale can be found on the Library website, TylerLibrary.com or by calling 903-593-7323.
