Tyler to Pay Tribute to Newtown Victims

Perhaps you've been feeling a little helpless this week. The news reports about last Friday's shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, CT are everywhere, and as we watch the families bury their loved ones we grieve right along with them.

What can we do? This Sunday there will be a memorial service for the victims right here in Tyler.

Anyone can attend a candlelight vigil at The Children’s Park on Broadway in Tyler this Sunday night. Just bring a candle with you, and it will be lit while the names of the 20 childred lost are read aloud. You'll also have the chance to sing “Silent Night” and a speaker will talk about grief.

Also, the US Postal Service has set up a PO Box to receive messages of condolence for families in Newtown, CT.
