The signs of spring are all around us, trees are starting to bud, some grass is turning green, daffodils are popping up and the azalea blooms are starting to appear on the evergreen bush and that means the Azalea & Spring Flower Trail in Tyler will soon be opening.

The opening of the 2013 Azalea & Spring Flower Trail will be commemorated with a ribbon cutting ceremony that will be held Friday, March 15th at 10a at the Pyron Garden on Dobbs St. The event will feature national gardener Neil Sperry, the Azalea Belles in full Azalea Trail gala and music from violinist Emily Williams.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will open up the 54th annual event for the City of Tyler that brings in thousands of tourists from all over the state and nation to witness and experience the wonderful blooms that brighten up the historic brick streets of Tyler's Azalea District.

The Azalea & Spring Flower Trail is more than just flowers, there will also be shopping during the arts and crafts fair at Bergfeld Park, Azalea 10k run/walk, quilt show, historic Tyler homes on tour, a progressive art tour and more.

The Tyler Azalea Trail will be open with marked routes throughout the Azalea district March 15th through April 7th. For complete details on all the events check out their website and enjoy the awesomeness of the azalea this spring.
