Cee Lo Green stars as Black in ‘Sparkle,’ and he showcases his star power — and ‘Lady Killer’ persona — in his performance of ‘I’m a Man.’

Green shines onscreen alongside Jordin Sparks and the late, great Whitney Houston. In the clip, Green performs onstage and shows off his powerhouse voice along with a fantastic head of hair that’s much different from the shiny, bare look fans are used to.

Set to Green’s rollicking performance, we’re treated to a preview of Sparks as the titular Sparkle, gearing up for and riding out fame as a Motown starlet in a group based on the Supremes. We see Houston in her final performance, alternately beaming at her onscreen daughter and looking troubled, as well as romantic drama between Sparks and her co-stars Mike Epps, Derek Luke, Carmen Ejogo and Tika Sumpter.

Based on this clip alone, Green’s role in ‘Sparkle’ looks to be a pretty memorable one. His presence and charisma both in his musical career (remember all those feathers?) and as a coach on ‘The Voice’ have clearly served  him well. Here’s hoping we  see him onscreen more often!
