Today is officially known as Washington’s birthday, but its been changed over the years and has become known as President’s Day.  It originally started back in 1796 in commemoration of George Washington’s birthday and then the day was used to for formally observing President Abraham Lincoln’s birthday too.

Over the years we know there have been some interesting men take over the Oval Office and after the jump you’ll see some weird facts about our former Presidents.

John Quincy Adams had a pet alligator.

Woodrow Wilson kept sheep to trim the White House lawn.

Benjamin Harrison was so afraid of electric lights that he used to have White House staff turn them on and off.

Warren G. Harding once was accused of losing all the White House china gambling.

Eleanor Roosevelt, wife of Franklin D. Roosevelt, carried a revolver.

John Quincy Adams loved to skinny dip in the Potomac River.
