Stealing a SIM card out of a power meter is impressive enough, but 33-year-old Kylie Maree Monks outdid herself when she racked up a $200,000 data bill on the card in under four months.

This week, she pleaded guilty to computer-related fraud, owning stolen property and making a false declaration.

The SIM card was removed from an Aurora power meter and was pre-equipped with a wireless data connection. Monks used the card from November to February, with most of the charges coming from downloaded movies, music and phone calls.

The Aurora company became aware of the problem after they received a bill for $193,187.43. In addition to serving an 18-month jail sentence, Monks has been ordered to pay the hefty bill.
