Woman Will Wear Same Dress All Year As ‘One Dress Protest’

Kristy Powell, a therapist and Pilates teacher in New Haven, CT., will wear the same multifunctional black dress for an entire year.
The 26-year-old is doing so as a cultural experiment and to protest “the ways that fashion undervalues, denigrates, objectifies and often times insults women.”
For purposes of cleanliness, she will actually be using two identical dresses to conduct her protest. Powell, who has already logged a month in her new uniform, is documenting her experiences at her blog Onedressprotest.com.
