Soccer, what the rest of the world calls 'football' and watches with religious fervor, becomes important in America during the World Cup which kicks off today in Brazil.

Thirty two teams will compete for the coveted 2014 FIFA World Cup. I am in no way a soccer expert. In fact, I'm not really a fan of 'the beautiful game.' I've always preferred American football, baseball and basketball to soccer, but when the World Cup rolls around I pay attention like everyone else.

Today the home team, Brazil, will face Croatia at 3:00 p.m. CDT. Team USA's first match is not until Monday evening at 5:00 p.m.

Don't forget to root for native East Texan, Clint Dempsey of Team USA. Jump on the band wagon with the rest of us and catch the spirit of Team USA, watch this!
