A coach in a Canadian baseball club has benched a 16 year old player from the team because he refused to cut his hair. A few days before the home opener the coach requested the player to cut his hair and when he showed up for the team's home opener his hair wasn't cut and instead of being asked to leave the team, he had to sit out of the game because he wasn't in compliance with the coach's request.

This decision didn't sit well with the mom of the player. The mom confronted the coach and video taped the exchange because she felt that her sons hair length had nothing to do with his performance on the field and his hair length isn't addressed in the baseball club rules and that it was a coach's rule. During the conversation it also came out that the teen was growing his hair out to help kids with cancer but didn't reveal that to the coach when he requested the player to cut his hair.
