Back in September it became against the law in the state of Texas to be on your handheld cell phone in an active school zone. If you are caught on your cell phone while in an active school zone you could receive a citation for as much as $200. Although warning signs are posted at the beginning of school zones, many East Texans still talk on their phone and ignore this new law and face penalties if caught.

To bring awareness to this law and to inform drivers about the law, the Victoria (Texas) police department came up with a rap to get driver's attention while watching TV so that hopefully they may be more alert and pay closer attention while in a school zone and possibly delay that call or put the phone down while in a school zone.
