Throughout the entire month of October Smith County residents and East Texans dropped off new and gently used coats at participating dry cleaners throughout Smith County to be cleaned and donated to PATH's Coats For Kids program where kids without a winter coat can receive one for free.

Well, the coats have been donated and cleaned and are ready for distribution this weekend.  PATH will be distributing the donated coats on Saturday, November 17th and Sunday, November 18th at the old Griffin Elementary School gym at 3000 N. Border in Tyler.  To receive a coat, the child must be with a parent or legal guardian and they must have a photo id along with proof of residency in Smith County (an electric, water or phone bill or official mailed document with address).  The child receiving a coat must also present one of the following forms of id - photo id, birth certificate, social security card, school badge, report card) and be present for proper fitting.

Coats will be distributed:
Saturday, November 17th from 8a - 2p
Sunday, November 18th 12n - 4p

In the case that there are coats left over after the distribution they will be donated to area outreach centers.

Thanks to all who donated coats this year to help keep East Texas children warm during the cold weather that is on the way.
