This Sunday, Ariana Grande is planning to return to Manchester, England to perform a benefit for the victims of the bombing that took place at her concert last week. It's being reported that Coldplay will also be on the bill.

TMZ has the news, adding that Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams and Take That are also set to join as many as five other as-yet unnamed acts. The concert is booked for the Old Trafford Cricket Ground, with proceeds going to a central fund.

But there's a possibility that it might not happen. As the Mirror points out, there is a soccer game booked for Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium, which is located across the street from the cricket ground, scheduled for that afternoon. The match is an exhibition commemmorating midfielder Michael Carrick's 11 years with United, with proceeds going to charity. The logistics of having the two events take place on the same day comes with its own challenges.

"[C]learly we can’t have 65,000 people at Old Trafford for Michael Carrick’s testimonial and 50,000 in Lancashire Cricket Club both at the same time," Greater Manchester Police Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said. "It would just have caused utter traffic chaos, let alone the security issues for us."

Hopkins added that Grande is "very keen to come back to Manchester sooner rather than later," and the police have been working with both parties to come to a solution.

"So yesterday I was speaking personally with Michael and his team who, I have to say, have been brilliant in trying to come to a compromise around enabling us to make sure that both go ahead," he said. "I am fairly confident that we will be able to do both on Sunday and the people of Manchester will yet again be able to show their support."
