
East Texas Man Sentenced to Life for Meth and Marijuana Sales
(East Texas) One East Texas man just found out that he will never be a free man again after he was sentenced to life in prison for selling drugs.
Texas Doesn’t Play Around with Habitual Offenders
According to KLTV, 62-year-old Jeffrey Lee Sharp of Mabank was in court recently and pleaded not guilty to his charges, but it didn’t take long for a jury to find him guilty.
But during his trial there was testimony given that Sharp is a habitual offender, which is why he got the lengthy prison sentence.
When Sharp was arrested, he was on parole, he had already had two sentences of 35 years for drug and burglary charges, and a 20-year sentence for injury to a child.

What Led Up to His Recent Drug Arrest?
The incident occurred on October 26, 2023, when a Henderson County Sheriff’s Office investigator make contact with him during a traffic stop on Main Street in Gun Barrel City.
Sharp was the only person in the vehicle and there was an odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle.
The vehicle was searched and multiple baggies of methamphetamine and one bag of marijuana was found.
All drugs were sent for testing and confirmed for the different substances.

What Were the Charges in This Case
In the end Sharp was given the life sentence for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, greater than or equal to 4 grams but less than 200 grams.
And let this be a lesson to any drug dealer in Texas, your actions could put you behind bars for the rest of your life.
