Right-wing conservative co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck is leaving 'The View' (you probably already knew about that) -- and landing right into a cushy job at Fox News. Which should surprise exactly no one.

"Elisabeth’s warm and engaging personality made her a star on 'The View,'" FOX News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes said in an annoucement. "She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise."

"I have been a long-time fan of 'Fox & Friends' and am excited to be joining their team in September," Hasselbeck added.

Hasselbeck will fill the spot on the 'Fox & Friends' couch vacated by Gretchen Carlson, who will be anchoring her own daytime program this fall.

As for Elisabeth's stint on 'The View,' from which she was supposedly fired for being too conservative, that's (rather abruptly) ending today, so start practicing your crocodile tears now.
