Whenever you hear parents in East Texas discussing what businesses we need next it's normally not another delicious restaurant, it always seems to be about having more things for kids to do. Everyone knows if you keep kids busy with fun or exciting activities they are much less likely to get into trouble. And when I learned about the EAA Young Eagles group the details sounded like a lot of fun so I wanted to make sure to share them with you.

I had never heard about the EAA Young Eagles until a man named Ronnie Godfrey was promoting it on a social media group for Longview. The Young Eagles is a program sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and set up for kids who are excited about aviation. They offer FREE flights for kids from 8 to 17 and as you would expect the kids absolutely love the experience.

Recently a Group of East Texas Kids Got to Experience the Miracle of Flight

There was a group of 27 kids that got to experience the fun of flight thanks to this program and there will be another similar event in the Fall. The next event is still a work in progress but details should be coming out as plans are decided.

Where Did These East Texas Kids Fly?

The kids that most recently got to fly with the EAA Young Eagles Group were flying out of the Gladewater airport.

Currently, Ronnie is working to get more details on social media about the group and how kids can get signed up if they love airplanes and aviation. There is no page created yet, as progress is made I will try and get those details sent your way.
