Stats say that at this point in November, about half of us have already begun our holiday shopping. Somewhere in the house we have a box of gifts already stashed away, and many of us started picking up the gifts even before Halloween to stay ahead of the game. Call us crazy, but we consider ourselves geniuses cuz we're not hit with the Christmas bills all at once. It's just effective planning!

There's a great opportunity beginning today in Tyler to do a little holiday shopping at the Holiday Market. It is the largest fundraiser for Junior League of Tyler, the community-service organization of women. You'll be able to find lots of great gifts to stash away, and some things for yourself too.

Hours today and Friday at the Harvey Convention Center are noon to 9 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Admission to the market is $8 each day.

You'll find things you can't pick up at just any ole place. They'll have gourmet foods and candies, antiques, gifts, holiday decorations, clothing, housewares, accessories and jewelry. Organizers say they've lined up almost 100 vendors and specialty boutiques.

It's a New Orleans-theme - Mistleteaux & Magic.

There's plenty of time to shop in the stores this holiday season. Go get the unique stuff today through Saturday! Happy shopping.
