I've encountered this type of person...heck, I have probably been guilty of this. Driving in the left lane when I'm not passing another vehicle.

But I've never driven TOO SLOW in the left lane, causing a buildup of traffic behind me. That's just insane! We are all at risk as it is when driving at high speeds, why tempt fate?

That's why this tweet from an Indiana State Trooper resonated with me, and likely with so many others, as his actions are being praised on social media.

One person asked if this applies to those going the speed limit, to which he responded:

However, he clarified that he was not condoning or encouraging people to speed:

In case your wondering, this is not limited to Indiana. According to txdot.gov, Texas does not have an official 'slowpoke law,' however drivers must also keep right, stating "Impeding the flow of traffic by continuing to drive in the left lane is punishable by a fine up to $200."

I don't know about you, but I don't have an extra $200 to burn, so I plan on being a bit more attentive when in this situation.

Have you encountered this? How do you feel about slowpokes in the left lane?
