Halloween is the holiday where you know the candy is going to flow, and will probably last you months after the holiday is over.  Parents are notorious for sneaking candy out of their kids Halloween pails after a great night of trick-or-treating.

It's no wonder that the kids have started hiding their candy from their parents.

Every year Candy Store conducts a study on what candy is the most popular in each state for Halloween and the candy for Texas might surprise you.

The most popular candy in Texas is:

#1 Sour Patch Kids

Texans have bought over 973,833 lbs of Sour Patch Kids!

#2 Reese's Cups

#3 Starbursts

What do you think?  Did they get it right?

I would think that the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups would have been in the top spot, but Sour Patch Kids are popular.  Nine times out of 10 when someone grabs candy in my household, they choose Sour Patch Kids.

However, according to the National Retail Federation, $3.5B will be spent on Halloween Candy this year.  Think about all the candy that will be dropped in Halloween pails this year, and then half of that will be stolen by the parents.
