A plane crash that killed a Jacksonville woman Sunday night is under investigation by the Department of Public Safety and the FAA. Investigators say 60-year-old Debra Birch died in the crash.

Birch was flying a single engine aircraft when it crashed into a hanger bay at the Cherokee County Airport. The accident happened around 4:35pm on Sunday.

There's no specific cause listed for the crash at this point, but the FAA has said so far that Birch was attempting a touch-and-go landing at the time, which means the plan lands and then takes off several times.

More information will be released as the investigation continues.
