When I was a kid, there was something completely magical about gingerbread houses. I'd see them in those old catalogs they used to send and was always enchanted. I always wanted to make one, but somehow we never got around to it. Even as an adult, I'm a little bit in love with them. If you share my interest, you'll definitely want to check out the "Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop" coming up Sunday, December 15 at Potpourri House at 3320 Troup Highway in Tyler from 3 to 5 p.m.

What a lovely way to celebrate the season with your family and friends. Everyone is welcome, aged 5 years of age and above. For the kiddos, it is requested that an adult purchase a ticket to sit next to them.

You'll be given one "personal-sized" gingerbread house to decorate and will receive instruction on how to make it deliciously beautiful using Good Juju's Cookies' special royal-glaze icing. You'll have access to all the tools you need and you'll receive a 12" square cake board so you can get your masterpiece home in one piece.

They do ask that you get there just a bit earlier than the scheduled time to make sure you can check in and chill out before class begins promptly at 3 p.m. Please note tickets are non-refundable.

Other important tidbits of info? You will have the opportunity to buy more decorated cookies and there will be refreshments at the workshop.
