Little Women Returns to Theaters Christmas 2019

For all those girls, like me, that grew up reading Louisa May Alcott's 'Little Women' novels a film is on the way.

Growing up, I enjoyed seeing the version of the film that starred Winona Rhyder as Jo March. Released in 1994, the film debuted about the same time that I read the novel for the first time. I loved it.

Today, I'm excited to see Greta Gerwig bring the novel to life on the big screen again through her perspective. The film will star Saoirse Ronan as Jo March. You'll also see Emma Watson as her older sister, Meg. Timothee Chalet will play opposite Ronan in the role of Laurie.

The film follows the March sister in post Civil War Boston. Each has her own unique talent that she displays, though the narrative follows Jo closely. Meryl Streep stars as Aunt Josphine March, who is their benefactor and Jo's namesake.

The film opens Christmas Day, which should allow me plenty of time to reread the beloved novel again.
