Look: Kerrville, Texas Pounded by Large Hail
The latest reminder that we are in the thick of storm season is a video showing large hail raining down on Kerrville, Texas. On Sunday, March 23, a storm system rolled through Central Texas, and as usual, it brought some good old-fashioned Texas-size hail with it.
To me, hail is one of the symptoms of supercells that isn’t talked about enough. Obviously, it’s not as violent as tornadoes, flash floods, or even straight-line winds, but each year, hail wreaks havoc across the Lone Star State.

According to RestoreMasters, hail has caused $6.5 billion in property damage in Texas – making it the top-ranked state for recorded hail damage losses. Don’t you just hate it when the old saying that everything is bigger in Texas is sometimes true but in a negative way?
I’ll take the bad with the good, though. I’ve lived elsewhere, and I much prefer it here in my home state (even if I cuss it a bit from time to time). But I will admit that storm season puts my love for the Lone Star State to the test.
Anyway, the video below serves as a stark reminder to be vigilant and keep a close eye on the weather this time of year. If possible, pull your vehicle into a garage or under a carport when the skies start to darken. Otherwise, all bets are off.
