Lucky Larry Presents Mix 93-1’s Check To Children’s Miracle Network [VIDEO]

This past weekend the Children's Miracle Network hosted their annual telethon to raise money for the pediatric services offered by Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital. Every dollar that is raised through fundraising throughout East Texas stays here locally to benefit the children in need in East Texas. Organizations, businesses and individuals were on hand to present checks from their organization and many called in to make a donation just like the thousands of Mix listeners do each August during the Mix With Kids Children's Miracle Network Radiothon.

I was proud to represent Mix 93-1 along with the many listeners who called in to make their pledges last August as I presented the check with Doc Deason from CBS19 during the CMN telethon in the amount of $20,215. This was a record breaking year for the Children's Miracle Network as they raised $1,166,413.26 for the pediatric services at Christus Trinity Mother Frances.

These funds will go a long way in purchasing new equipment for the hospital system throughout East Texas. I was very proud to be a part of this this past weekend and to see this much money being donated throughout the year. The next big step will be to oversee where that money goes and how it gets spent and that's something that I'll be a part of. Usually in the early part of August, CMN committee members convene and listen to the different pediatric needs from the different areas of the hospital and then collectively we decide what equipment, programs and training to fund and support with the $1.1 million. It's a pretty difficult task to undertake, but as a committee we get the job done and keep the best interest of the young ones in mind.

This is an event I am very proud to be a part of and I am looking forward to our 18th annual Mix With Kids Children's Miracle Network Radiothon coming up Thursday and Friday, August 18th and 19th!
