No Doubt premiered the title track from their upcoming album ‘Push and Shove’ on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show today. While bassist Tony Kanal’s claim (that it’s their ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’) may be an exaggeration, the song does incorporate a variety of styles and tempos over its whirlwind four minutes.

Like ‘Settle Down,’ the album’s first single, ‘Push and Shove’ is built around a reggae pop sound, but it quickly moves beyond that. Rapid-fire sing-rap verses with clattering production from Diplo give way to a slow, dramatic hook in which Gwen Stefani sings, “You work it hard / Boy, you got me good how you push and shove / Ooh boy, you’re hustlin’ me.

Dancehall artist Busy Signal trades lines with Stefani during a sassy back and forth exchange where she brags, “La la la vida loca / Speeding it up like Soca / Just when you think it’s over / We be on another level like we’re doin’ yoga.”

It’s not clear whether ‘Push and Shove’ will be released as a single, but we wouldn’t mind hearing this over and over on the radio for the next few months. The album arrives in stores on Sept. 25, just four days after No Doubt take the stage at the iHeart Radio Festival.
