I know the Grinch tried to steal Christmas, but apparently he is trying to steal Halloween as well by making it the last Saturday of the month of October instead of the 31st.

According to CBS News, the Halloween and Costume Association has launched a national petition to move Halloween to the last Saturday in October and people seem to be ok with the suggestion.

More than 33,000 signatures have been added to the online petition Change.org as parents say that Halloween is less fun on a weekday instead of the weekend.

Cassandra Stone says the change could make the it more convenient with daytime Trick or Treat hours and wouldn’t be outside when it’s late.

Often times parents are rushing home they're trying to get the kids fed and in their costumes and out the door. … If it was on a Saturday that would kind of eliminate all of that.

Halloween has been around for as long as I can remember and I totally understand why some would want the day to fall on the last Saturday of October.  However, Halloween on any other day besides October 31st is just strange to me!

A total of 100,000 signatures are needed to receive a response from the White House.
