The highly-anticipated final chapter in the epic trilogy officially opened today (December 20) — and fans who watched last night have taken to Twitter to share their reviews. Though critics have mixed reactions, most moviegoers are thrilled with the conclusion. Many called the Star Wars film perfect, while others tweeted it was "everything you want and more."

Meanwhile, Variety reports Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker brought in $40 million in U.S. and Canadian ticket sales on its opening night. Though the movie didn't break records, it's the fifth-highest debut of all time behind Avengers: Endgame ($60 million), Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($57 million), Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($45 million) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 ($44 million).

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is expected to earn as much as $200 million this weekend.

It stars Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Fin, Oscar Isaac as Poe, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren and Kelly Marie Tran as Roe. The film also featured a number of new faces, including Naomi Ackie and Keri Russell, as well as sees the return of Star Wars icons Billy Dee Williams and Anthony Daniels as Lando Calrissian and C-3PO, respectively.
